Hi,

Please bring $10 to bay for the $330+ fees, which could have been reduced by Adsense. Unfortunately, since KS' case is of more importance now according to Mr Tan, Adsense is now second priority. Maybe wait till next term 1 1/2 months later. Please do not blame Kenneth for this, even though I must admit I'm quite frustrated with how his case may be preventing us from moving forward. First I must remind everyone to bring their history notes and textbook again on monday.

NEWS-
I forgot to take my water bottle with me, so I went back to class and retrieved. I thought the classroom was locked but it wasn't. The light was on. So all I did was to go in and take it right?
Then, I noticed that Mrs Mass/Ms Mass/Mdm Mass/Mrs Maas/Ms Maas/Mdm Maas/whatever thingy that is pronounced "Mars", Matthew whatever from the CECC, Ken(is this his name) and the other guy that is not chinese from the CECC were in the class. Mrs Whatever asked me, "Are you from this class? The decor is wonderful." Matthew (how to spell his surname) said hi.

Please stop posting such messages on 1Inspire class blog, they are not beneficial nor relevant. Furthermore, they are rather childish and are thus not appropriate for the class blog. Using the argument form modus ponens, I thereby argue:
1) Posting unrelated posts on the class blog is wrong.
2) Non-related subjects were posted on the class blog.
3)Thus, it is wrong

At least listen to sense, this class blog is meant for announcements, homework, etc. Besides, what's this about "improving relations" you can do this personally, not involve the whole class. I'd like to say now I agree with Benedict, personal affairs must not mix with the class, with 1Inspire. Priorities must be set right, 1Inspire if my responsibility, and it isn't right if 2 guys simply decide to be affliated with another class, etc. Even so, consensus must be given. Thus, I'd say that what was done wasn't really right.

Please remember to bring your HEALTH BOOKLETS and HISTORY NOTES. I also would like to remind you that the nurses are coming for a health check-up so please wash yourself.

Next, the rugby finals is on Monday and it is COMPULSORY for everyone. So even if you are unhappy about it, you still have to come, and before we leave for Padang, we have a RE period, which they put in (personally, I don’t like this idea).

Oh, the ORA Walk-a-Jogathon yesterday was really fun. Although I went late, at around 12 noon and didn’t manage to catch ZCY getting dunked, I had a really good time. For those who weren’t able to make it, don’t worry because some people took a video of ZCY getting dunked.

Then after that we gave Eugene the presents and then Yon-Lu was kicked around by some girl because we told the NCC people that the girl new someone. Anyway, if you couldn’t make it for the Jogathon, please come next year as it is really fun!

Hi guys,

Before I continue, I'd like to thank Samuel Teo, Mr Tan, Ren Yan, Shi Yao, Min Seok, Alex Chan, Daniel Mark, Yon Lu for contributing to and getting those great presents. This has given me more motivation to do my best as a student of RI =D. Moving on, here are some brief and important notes for week 5, effectively marking the halfway point of term 2:

1. 2 CCTs, Geography and Philosophy. Geography is on Tuesday and Philosophy is on friday.
2. Please note that on Monday there will be rugby support, many CCAs have let their members off to support including mine (NCC), so please come.
3. There is judging for the CLASS DECORATION COMPETITION as I said, I want 1Inspire to win and really show what we are made of, what we can do. I want us to inspire. Many people from other classes have commented favourably on our decorations, but I think we should still work harder. Also it is not just all about the competition, it is about making 1Inspire a conducive place for learning, so we all feel happy to be in 1Inspire.
4. Some quick notes: please bring health booklets and your History Civilization notes.

1. Class Party/barbecue for June Holidays. For this one, I think we should do it earlier so we can all enjoy our holidays fully after that and because I do not want the date to clash with overseas vacations, etc. I will ask 1Inspire on what days they are available.
   
2. Birthday celebrations (INSPIREd, obviously, by the previous events, although I should have thought of it sooner.) As our PSL Douglas once suggested, a simple cake is enough during lunch or free period. However, since almost half of the year (that's really fast) has gone, we will have to celebrate for two months every month after June.
   
3. General clean-up of class. The class, as some teachers have noted, is getting a bit dirty, and furthermore amplified by the fact that the duty system is almost moribund(defunct). Last Friday, Jason, Ching Hao, Jax helped me in cleaning up the class, and mopped the floor. Also, I hope this to be done either this Monday (early but in time for the Class decoration, as it is also a graded section under "general appearance") This can be done during lunch, if everybody co-operates it can be done really quickly.
4. More matches with other classes. A side note that since I am unable to contact the leader of soccer team of 1K, it will have to be postponed AGAIN. sigh. Also for this, I think the captains of the team should be put in charge of engaging/accepting friendly matches to make the captain role more useful.

Hi. get ready for a long post...

Today we decided to pass Eugene the presents. What he didn't know (or at least we think he didn't know) was that we had started planning since one week ago... but the rest today (asking a girl to pass the present to him) was impromptu.

So this was what happened behind the scenes...
A week ago benedict sent out an email to us, and i suggested to daniel mark that we should celebrate eugene's birthday which was coming soon. So from there, we decided to raise some funds and we had some ideas in mind.

We asked the help of a random girl to ask eugene what songs/albums he like so that it would not be so obvious. After much deliberation... we decided to buy simple plan's new cd title... (surprise!) simple plan. Initially, there was not a lot of support even though daniel and i tried to rally the help of our classmates. But on friday, 3 different people donated $10 each.

After school, we went to junction 8 to shop for presents. We wanted to ask the guy-who-visits-kfc-daily-and-takes-photos-of-ri-guys to donate some money but daniel decided it was unethical even though he took a few photos of us (ew...). First we went to popular and found this book called "brain smart leaders". After buying it, we went to a cd shop and found the simple plan cd. And we found out that they gave a simple plan shirt free together with the cd! yay! When i reached home i found out the book was about jobs... but it will be useful to eugene next time :P

So anyway on saturday, eugene and i went for a random program and would only be back in school at 1pm. on the bus back the random girl smsed me to ask me if she needed to do anything for eugene as she was at junction8. so i asked her to rush back to ri (well she really took her time... -.-). this was not really prepared and planned for.

when we reached back in school, i rushed to change into my pe pants from my trackpants and lost sight of eugene. then i started calling him for like... 5 times? and he didnt reply so i told the random girl not to come yet... if i'm not wrong she hadn't even left junction 8 yet... we thought eugene might have gone home.

after about 15 min since i reached ri eugene called back so i told both of them to rush back to ri.
we had originally planned to go to the 2nd storey above the canteen while ashlynna would pass the present to eugene at the clocktower... and so we would be able to seem from above but that failed. so we passed ashlynna this hairy purple ball alex bought and ashlynna presented it to eugene. yay!

then we went to 1i, after a while the random girl with her random friend came to junior block too... so we decided heck, why not, and asked random girl to present "brain smart leaders" to eugene too. next, we told eugene to go into the boy's toilet. after we got ready, ashlynna presented eugene the spanky cool new cool PUSSYCAT DOLL'S ALBUM... i guess he was kinda dumbfounded because that would have been a crappy present, but when he opened it up, he was shocked to realise it was actually the simple plan's cd in a pussycat doll's album cover! moreover, we gave him the simple plan tshirt too which really fits him.

um well, this was partially a success as some things could have been planned better.

Ps: more is coming up on wednesday. those who know please don't reveal to eugene.

Hi guys,

As said, adsense has been removed after the testing, pending approval by Mr. Tan. However, I think although it is a good suggestion, it will require quite some effort and time since it involves a School Website (class blog) and money. We would not want to give our school a bad name in any way, so we must first seek permission before formally doing anything. On another note, the preliminary tests have shown that the money earned from this is quite ok:

Basically, $5 for 30 clicks yesterday. It can only be sent for every $100 earned.

If you want to watch any performance by the RI Musical Groups, you can purchase the tickets, which is around $10-$15. You can download the Word Doc from the sch website. Please remember to watch the performance from RISE(Raffles Institution String Ensemble)!!!

Ignore the retariisense one, that's for my blog, the 1inspire account currently has 5 cents for a click, which is quite good, depends on which link you click, some links give more money. Anyway, this is just to test, do not click yet. This is also to tshow how the system can be transparent, since my blog's and 1inspire's channels are different.

Eugene here again. As promised, Google adsense has been added, although please don't click on them yet as I have to confirm with Mr Tan. If approved, this can provide some money and hopefully reduced the burden on the Treasury. Furthermore, I've added this using my Adsnese account because it already has been manually approved by Adsense Staff. I have already implemented it on my blog, but rest assured no money will go to me as I have set them up on seperate channels so the money will be sent in sperate checks (again, I'd like to remind you guys that I have to seek approval first. This is only a test and preview, although money can be earned.)

Hi guys, our class T-shirt has finally arrived. Btw, please don't accuse me of skipping my CCA coz it is only once a week on Friday. Anyway, if you dun know, we had one spare shirt and so we decided to use it for class deco. We pinned it up on the front of the class. Also, Mr Tan will be getting one of these shirts (Eugene has saved one for him).

Our class has collected about 100+ used batteries. But we don't think it is enough as other classes have more. If you all want the Eternal Rechargable Battery Power, pls bring at least 2 batteries. I have observed that people are impersonating each other and leaving comments like "I love u" or "I love him to the core" or if you look at the tagboard, there are a lot of cases like recently,  we can't tell who's the real Min Seok in the tagboard... (Ranging from The REAL Min Seok to TRUE REAL ACTUAL Min Seok) etc... I think this is very childish and you guys probably remember the lesson on cyber bullying during CLE. I hope we don't see any more of these childish act of impersonating again.
